The Prudential Foundation
The Prudential Foundation invests over 0.5 million in grants in efforts that support the revitalization of communities each year. The Foundation also supports Prudential employees' community engagement efforts through Matching Gifts and special programs that recognize their volunteer efforts.
To promote sustainable communities and improve social outcomes for community residents, The Prudential Foundation focuses its strategy in the following areas:
Education
- Education leadership to support reform in public education. Within this framework, the Foundation works to improve student achievement by increasing the leadership capacity of educators, parents and community residents to implement public school reform. It also funds organizations whose efforts influence policy that adapts best practices and research-based approaches to support instruction and learning in schools.
- Youth development to build skills and competencies needed for young people to be productive citizens. It includes expanding arts education opportunities, and supporting effective out-of-school-time programs for young people.
Economic Development
- Workforce development programs that train and place individuals in demand occupations.
- Business development opportunities to create and grow businesses.
- Community development with a focus on strengthening community development corporations
In order to make a significant impact with finite resources, our funding is allocated according to specific Foundation Policies and Application Guidelines.
